The Dumbest Way to Use AI

AI is powerful, but only if you know how to use it right.

Most people are using AI the wrong way.

They type a vague prompt into ChatGPT, get a generic response, and then say:
"AI is overrated."

Or worse… they copy-paste AI’s answer without checking it, sounding like a robotic version of themselves.

But here’s the truth; AI isn’t the problem. The way you’re using it is.

The dumbest way to use AI? Blindly accepting whatever it gives you.

I see it all the time:

Asking ChatGPT to "write a blog post" and post it without editing.
Result? A stiff, generic article that sounds like a Wikipedia page.

Generating a sales email without tweaking it to sound human.
Result? A cold email that gets ignored because it lacks personality.

Letting AI make decisions without double-checking its logic.
Result? Wrong data, misleading insights, and a potential disaster.

AI isn’t a replacement for thinking. It’s a tool to enhance your thinking.

Here’s how to use AI the smart way:

  1. Use better prompts. Be specific. Instead of "write a LinkedIn post," try "Write a LinkedIn post about AI myths in a casual, engaging tone, like a conversation with a friend."

  2. Edit everything. AI gives you a starting point, not a finished product. Make it sound like you.

  3. Fact-check AI. It’s confident but not always right. Always verify before trusting what it says.

  4. Add personal touches. AI can provide the structure, but your stories, opinions, and experiences make it stand out.

Think of AI like a smart intern it can do a lot, but it still needs your direction, creativity, and final approval.
